I want to take time to explain why my posts have been so sporadic lately. I am having computer/camera problems! I don’t know about you but I don’t like ANYthing to go wrong mechanically when I’m working on something. I used to get sooo upset when I would try to sew and the sewing machine would get thread caught and I’d have to take out the bobbin and begin again. I had a hard enough time just getting the motivation to sew and that would just completely throw me off kilter. I guess I just don’t have patience with bumps in the road and that’s just life! We’re gonna have things that go wrong and I have just got to learn to be more flexible and patient.
Now as I was writing that last sentence the mouse fell to the floor and the battery rolled out so I had to put it back together and I put the battery in wrong! CASE IN POINT!!
Okay, all that to say, I have not posted as much cause I can’t get my camera to hook up to the computer and I like to post with pictures. I feel like it’s boring just reading, like you’re having to do now:) At this point, I’m on hubby’s laptop and I really make a mess on it cause I tend to type too fast and for some reason I’m always losing my words. I’ll be typing along and all of a sudden it’s gone! ANYway, I’m gonna catch you up a little this year without pictures so bear with me. I will try to get everything up and running and post some recipes as quick as I can.
I have started off the year very organized. Who knows how long this will last but at least I’ve started! First of all, I went to the Christian Book store and bought cards so I can have b’day cards to send this year. Iwould like to stay in touch a little better with my family so am making an attempt to send cards. I can’t do them all cause we have a HUGE family but will try to do as many as I can. I also have some teachers at church that I am supposed to be checking on and encouraging. I have not done well on this the latter part of last year so this year I have taken some steps to help that.
Here’s my problem…I remember I need to send a card but I remember this at 10:00 at night. If I can think, I will write it on a note. If I can remember, I stick the note in my purse. If I can recall to check my purse, I will buy the card. Then I stick it in a drawer or it will sit on the counter for days. Then I finally remember to write a note in the card, address the card and am ready to mail it when I realize I have no stamps!! Am I speaking to ANYbody out there???? Sooo here’s my new plan for 2011. I have bought the cards already! I have bought a roll of stamps (yes 100!). I have already addressed three months of cards and have them ready to mail. I have written on my calendar (which I look at daily) when I need to mail these cards. I am ready! I am armed and dangerous!! Yea!! It’s gonna be a better year!
Next, I have pulled out my menu sheet from last year and am going by that again to be more organized in feeding the family. That, once again, is working. Tonight we’re having white beans with ham and cornbread. That was on the sheet and it helps me to have that to go by. Look up the post from last year in January and you’ll find it (Menu Planning). So that’s helping in the area of meals. It’s gonna be a better year!
My hubby has consented to go to Weight Watchers with me which is helping considerably! I love us doing this together. I think the more you can do with your mate the better. I know that doesn’t always work but this is helping me so much. He gives me ideas of what we can do and it keeps me more accountable. He is losing much faster than me but that’s okay. I’m so tickled he’s losing. I want this man around a very long time and we both want to be healthier than we are so we’re shooting for the same goal. Our anniversary is in April and that’s my long range goal. I want to have all of my weight off before then if possible. It’s pitiful when you’ve gained 20 pounds since you married and you’ve only been married 7 years!! AND you’ve had no babies and you weren’t even young when you married! I have no excuse but happpines.. I just love this man and we have such a good time eating! Now we are having such a good time excercising! Not really but I’m trying to stay positive. It’s gonna be a better year!
And last but certainly not least I am working very consistently on reading my “Everyday Devotion Bible” that I bought last year. I am also reading a book to help me on this weight loss journey. It’s called “Reshaping it All” by Candance Cameron Bure (she was D.J. on the show FullHouse that was on years ago). It is an awesome book and is helping me a lot. I also got it at the Christian Book store.
And yes, I have started buying for Christmas. Stop laughing! That was the best thing I did last year to reduce the stress. I averaged buying about every other month and had the bulk of it done by October and the rest done by November. It helped me more than I imagined. My one change this year will be to give my neighborhood gifts earlier this year. I let that kind of sneak up on me:)
Okay, you’re now officially caught up:) I have lost words about five times on this crazy laptop! I hope to get everything back to normal soon! Take care. Do some things for YOU this year. Do things for your mental health and for your physical health but most of all do as much as you can for your spiritual health. Are you healthy in that area? We gotta keep feeding our minds with the Word of God so we are not weak spiritually. You are so loved by the Lord Jesus. Please do something this year to learn more about Him, so serve Him and to recieve all that He has for you.
Have a blessed 2011!
Talk to ya later:)
